Overview

Prior to the start of his Senior Developmental Education Fellowship at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Lieutenant Colonel Sheffield was assigned as the Commander of the 39th Security Forces Squadron at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.  His experience spans a wide variety of air base defense, force protection, law enforcement, and operational planning functions at the unit and theater levels.  Lt Col Sheffield was commissioned in June 1999 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He has served as a flight commander, technical training course chief, operations officer, squadron commander, and joint duty action officer at locations in six states, South Korea, Ecuador, Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, and Turkey.
