As Director of Research at the Georgia Tech-Shenzhen campus, Professor Michael Best is responsible for developing a rich research environment at our campus in China and connecting globally with relevant faculty, students, and partner groups.

Shenzhen is world-famous for its approach to innovation and rapid prototyping stressing principles of openness, creativity, peer production, remix, and reuse. Their initial research program in Shenzhen is trying to connect these principles with Georgia Tech’s entrepreneurial leadership through an initiative on global and inclusive innovation and social entrepreneurship. Now more than ever we need to develop global partnerships designed to tackle our global challenges in a spirit of openness and inclusivity.
