Michael Ceci
Ph.D. Student
- Sam Nunn School of International Affairs
Overview
I am currently an incoming PhD student at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. I am also an active-duty Air Force officer and am privileged to be attending Georgia Tech through a developmental education program. A pilot by trade, I’ve been flying the C-130J transport aircraft for (only) four years and expect to return to the flying community post-graduation in 2023. This career field, as well as my assignment overseas in Ramstein Air Base, Germany, has provided incredible experiences working with several international organizations (particularly NATO) and U.S. partners (especially across Europe and North/Sub-Saharan Africa).
As I continue a now eight-year military career, myself, my wife, and young son have the rare opportunity to live just minutes away from both sets of family. I believe our new home in Kennesaw, GA will balance the professional demands of an in-residence PhD with quality, and long overdue, time with extended family. I am incredibly excited to start this new chapter in both my academic and military career!
