For Prospective Nunn School Majors: First-Year Semester Abroad Program

Directed by Professor Vicki Birchfield and launched in 2021, Georgia Tech’s First-Year Semester Abroad (FYSA) Program leverages Georgia Tech’s global campuses and programs to provide a high-quality, experiential learning opportunity for incoming first-year students who wish to internationalize their college career right from the start.

Begin your studies at Georgia Tech in a special, late-summer session in Atlanta. Next, head abroad for your first fall semester at one of two options: FYSA @ GTE, hosted by Georgia Tech’s European Campus in Metz, France, and FYSA @ Oxford, where you will study and live at one of the Colleges of the University of Oxford in England and then continue your coursework as you travel throughout continental Europe. While abroad, your classes will all be Georgia Tech courses taught in English, and you will earn credits toward your degree. Finish the year with the Spring semester back on the Atlanta campus.

Each program is selective, with enrollment limited to no more than 50 students to ensure a high degree of student-faculty interaction
