Research Initiatives

The Sam Nunn School has recently restructured its research program to fit into three tracks: Global Development, International Security, and International Affairs, Science, and Technology. Research in these three tracks addresses drivers and the consequences of global challenges and opportunities using qualitative/quantitative methods, visual analytical tools, and regional perspectives in three areas:

  • International Security: exploring areas such as emerging technologies for issues related to conflict, cooperation, and governance
  • Global Development: assessing topics in sustainability, environmental issues, global energy, political economy, and international economic governance/regulation
  • International Affairs, Science, and Technology: examining space, comparative and strategic/military innovation, and international financial technology and institutions

The purpose of this change is to provide specialized programs of study, focused events, and research opportunities. We believe this change will help us meet the needs of our students, alumni, and faculty.
