Degree Options
Flexibility: Students can design the program to meet their individual interests through elective offerings in economics, public policy, management, engineering, computer science, and other units on campus.
Cross-enrollment: Students can take advantage of Georgia Tech's cross-enrollment agreement with nineteen other Atlanta area colleges and universities. Through cross-enrollment, students can expand their education by cross-enrolling at institutions like Emory, Oglethorpe University, Georgia State University, University of Georgia, Agnes Scott, and Morehouse, among others. Students pay Georgia Tech tuition to attend classes at these institutes if concurrently enrolled at Georgia Tech.
Credit Waiver: Graduate students entering the M.S. INTA program from the B.S. INTA, B.S. IAML, or B.S. EIA programs at Georgia Tech may waive six credits of electives if they graduated from the undergraduate program with a 3.5 GPA and will graduate from the M.S. INTA program within two years of graduating from the undergraduate program. If the student pursues this option, all 36 credits for the M.S. INTA degree must be at the 6000 level or above.
Further options: Students should meet with the Nunn School Academic Advisor to create an academic plan that will help them meet academic and career goals.
Degree Stipulations
General Rules and Regulations:
- A grade of "C" is needed in all courses for the M.S. INTA degree.
- Students must have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 to graduate.
- M.S. INTA graduate students may take two 3000 or 4000-level (undergraduate) courses towards their free elective classes. These 3000/4000 level classes will count towards the forty-two total credits needed to graduate only if they are taken for a letter grade.
- Economics, Language, and Technology requirements count toward the free elective credits needed to graduate if they are at least at the 3000 level.
- Pass/Fail Option: Students may take one of their free elective classes, which include prerequisite courses, pass/fail. This class must be at the 6000 level or above.
- M.S. INTA students are responsible for abiding by all Institute rules and regulations regarding graduate students.
- Students may take classes at the 1000 and 2000 levels, but these classes will not count toward the hours for graduation. Additionally, the registrar requires 1000 and 2000-level classes to be taken on a pass/fail basis.
