Message from the Chair to the Class of 2020

Dear Nunn School Spring 2020 Graduates,

Congratulations to you for completing your studies at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs!

I realize these unprecedented times are causing anxiety and uncertainty, especially as you embark on the next chapter of your life. But rest assured, the skills you have developed in critical thinking, empirical/data analysis, multicultural communication, writing, and problem-solving are going to serve you well in future pursuits, professionally and otherwise. These fundamental skills acquired through hard work in classes, internships, volunteer experience, jobs, clubs, and research opportunities, position you well to tackle some of the most vexing challenges of the 21st Century.

My advice to you is to expand your global footprint, never stop learning, stay curious, and approach all problems with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. I am confident in your preparation and know you will have great success in your future pursuits.

Of course, rejoicing alone is not how you anticipated the culmination of your studies. So I hope you will tune in on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 pm for the online Spring 2020 Celebration hosted by the Institute. Following this experience, the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs will host our own “virtual send-off" for you to engage with faculty via BlueJeans starting at 2:00 pm.

Again, a warm and hearty congratulations on this wonderful achievement. You have a lot to be proud of for all that you have accomplished, especially in the face of the most recent set of challenges presented by the global pandemic. Please keep in touch and do not hesitate to let us know how we can help as you navigate the next stages of your professional and/or academic endeavors. I hope to see you on Friday, and in the future.

Go Yellow Jackets!

Best Wishes,

Adam N. Stulberg
